On September 10 in the afternoon you received an invitation in your Tufts email (from swnalert@sendwordnow.com) to submit or update your emergency contact information. Use the personalized link in the email before Friday, September 14 to be a part of the upcoming test.

Analysis of past tests and emergencies has demonstrated that SMS text messaging is the fastest and most reliable way to broadcast an emergency message. While the system is also able to make phone calls and send email, your cellular telephone number is the most important piece of information you can give us. Make sure to label it as a “Cell” number, so the system knows to send you SMS text messages at that number.

In the event of a significant emergency or dangerous situation, Tufts University may notify the community using the Tufts Emergency Alert System powered by Send Word Now. Tufts will conduct a test of the system on Wednesday, September 19. Visit https://emergency.tufts.edu/teas/ for more information.
