A planning project is underway at Tufts University to prepare a Hazard Mitigation Plan Update in accordance with FEMA guidelines for Hazard Mitigation Planning. Tufts University has hired iParametrics to assist in facilitating this project.

The fundamental goal of the emergency management program is to minimize the effects of disasters and help the university to remain focused on its commitment to excellence, humanism, social responsibility, and professionalism.

Tufts’ emergency management program has been awarded accreditation by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP), making it the first program of a private institution of higher education to be accredited by EMAP.

There will be a test of the TuftsAlert system.
